Synthesia videos are subject to different licensing rules depending on whether you use a Stock avatar, Synthetic avatar, or Custom avatar. This article explains where you can publish your videos and what to check before using them commercially.
Stock & Synthetic Avatar and Voice Licence
When using a Synthesia stock or Synthetic avatars and voices, the below rules apply.

✅ TikTok videos | ❌ Broadcasting TV (without permission) |
✍️ What happens if a video breaks these rules
If your video breaks these rules, we may suspend your account. In most cases we'll ask you to remove or edit the video first, and if your account is suspended you can appeal the decision — see Content Moderation Appeals.
Custom Avatar Licence
With a Custom avatar, the licensing restrictions above don't apply. Instead, you can use your videos according to the agreement you've made with the person whose likeness you're using.
You must confirm that this person is over the applicable legal age and has given free, informed consent for their voice or likeness to be used in your videos. This applies even where you already have an internal agreement with them.
