If you are properly connected to Synthesia and the internet, video edits will be automatically saved.
To check the status of the saving process locate the cloud icon in the top right corner of the editor. If you see:
A cloud with a checkmark, your changes have been successfully saved.
A cloud with an arrow pointing up, the saving is in progress.
A red x over the cloud icon, your edits are not being saved. Stop making changes to your video and wait until you are reconnected before continuing.
