✍️ Sign in to Synthesia with SSO? Your organization must use WorkOS for Synthesia sign-in before you can connect. If you’re not sure, check with your IT admin. To learn more, check out How do I set up SSO with WorkOS?

To connect Synthesia to Claude, add Synthesia as a custom connector using the Synthesia server URL. Synthesia is not listed in the Claude connector directory, so you won’t find Synthesia by searching the directory.

Connect Synthesia to a Personal Claude Account

  1. In Claude, go to Customize, and then select Connectors.

  2. Select +, and then select Add custom connector.

  3. Enter a name, such as “Synthesia.”

  4. Enter the server URL: https://mcp.synthesia.io/mcp

  5. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret fields empty.

    • Synthesia handles sign-in, so you don’t need client credentials.

  6. Select Add, and then follow the prompts to sign in to your Synthesia account.

Connect Synthesia to a Claude Team or Enterprise Workspace

To connect Synthesia to a Claude Team or Enterprise workspace, a Claude Owner or Primary Owner adds the connector first, and then each member signs in individually.

Add the Connector as a Workspace Admin

  1. Go to Organization settings, and then select Connectors.

  2. Select Add, choose Custom, and then select Web.

  3. Enter the server URL: https://mcp.synthesia.io/mcp

  4. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret fields empty.

  5. Select Add.

Connect as a Workspace Member

After your admin adds Synthesia, connect your own Synthesia account.

  1. Go to Customize, and then select Connectors.

  2. Find Synthesia, labeled Custom, and then select Connect.

  3. Sign in to your Synthesia account and approve the permissions.

Turn On Synthesia in a Claude Chat

After you connect Synthesia, turn Synthesia on in each new chat where you want to use Synthesia.

  1. In Claude, go to Customize, and then select Connectors.

  2. Select Synthesia.

  3. In Tool permissions, confirm the Syren tools aren’t set to Blocked.

  4. Start a new chat.

  5. Select the + (Add) button in the message box, and then turn on Synthesia.

Synthesia is now ready to use in the chat. To learn what you can create, check out How do I use the Synthesia MCP?

Troubleshoot Claude Connection Issues

If you can’t connect Synthesia or Synthesia tools don’t work as expected in Claude, try these steps.

  • If you sign in to Synthesia with SSO and can’t connect, ask your IT admin to confirm that your organization uses WorkOS for Synthesia sign-in.

  • If you’re on a Team or Enterprise workspace and can’t find Synthesia, ask your Claude workspace admin to add the Synthesia connector first.

  • If Claude shows “Authorization with Synthesia failed,” remove the Synthesia connector, and then add the connector again from the Claude web app.

  • If the sign-in error comes from a website that isn’t Synthesia, your organization may route connector sign-in through its own system. Contact your IT team.

  • If new Synthesia tools don’t appear, restart the Claude desktop or web app to refresh the connection.
