Import PowerPoint slides to generate a new video

  1. Click the Import PowerPoint option on the home screen

  2. Upload or drag and drop your PowerPoint file.

  3. Select the toggle options you wish to use in the project.

  4. Click Import.

Once uploaded:

  • Text elements, shapes, images, videos and tables from your slides become editable in Synthesia.

    • With editable elements, you can:

      • animate them natively in Synthesia

      • ensure that the output is visually consistent once text is translated

      • replace elements in Synthesia without re-importing the PPT

      • For tables, cells and rows will resize based on the content changing.

  • Speaker notes are imported as the script for your video.

  • Fonts are detected automatically. For any missing fonts, you can either choose a replacement or upload the original files to preserve the design.

  • Automatic script creation - when Synthesia encounters a slide without speaker notes, it will automatically create a script for that scene based on the text content within the slide.

  • Automatic resizing - Synthesia automatically converts 4:3 PPTX files into 16x9 format on import

📌 Basic & Starter plan users cannot upload custom fonts.
