Synthesia allows you to create a custom AI voice in 32 languages by either recording your voice or uploading an audio file. This guide walks you through both methods and outlines the consent process required to generate your voice clone.
How to create a Voice Clone:
Click New voice to begin the voice creation process.
Choose a Voice Creation Method. You can create your voice in one of two ways:
Record your voice
Upload an audio file
Method 1: Record Your Voice
Input Required
Before recording, you’ll need to provide the following:
Gender
Language
Microphone selection
Script speed
Recording Instructions
On the right side of the details page, review the script you’ll be reading.
Click Start Recording.
Read the script in a positive tone, pausing between paragraphs and taking natural breaths.
After recording, the voice speaker must provide consent by reading a randomly generated passcode.
Once consent is successfully processed, click Generate to begin voice processing.
Method 2: Upload an Audio File

Duration: 1 to 5 minutes
Supported formats:
mp3
,wav
,m4a
,weba
,aac
,flac
,ogg
Upload Instructions
Upload your audio file.
Provide the Gender and Language of the speaker.
The voice speaker must record consent using a unique, randomly generated passcode.
Once consent is processed, click Generate to start voice processing.
After Voice Generation
Your custom voice will appear in the Voice Picker under the selected language’s Custom Voices section.
You can use your voice clone in multiple languages, not just the one it was recorded in.

Notes:
To ensure you get the best voice clone, get a good quality voice recording microphone.
