Can I use my own audio in Synthesia?
Yes. You can upload an audio file to a scene to replace the AI-generated voice with your own pre-recorded narration. This is useful if you have a voiceover recorded outside Synthesia, want to reuse existing audio, or are working with audio produced in another tool.
✍️ You upload audio scene by scene. If your narration runs across multiple scenes, split the file before uploading and match each segment to the correct scene
Upload an audio file
You can upload your own audio file to any scene instead of using a typed script.
Open the video you want to add audio to.
Select the scene you want to upload audio to and make sure the script box is empty.
Select the upload link in the script box to open the file picker.
Select your audio file and select Open.
Select the recording language from the left-hand side of the script box.
💡 Preview your uploaded audio using the Play button on the right-hand side of the script box.

Timing is fixed at upload. To adjust pacing, edit the file outside Synthesia and re-upload — you cannot trim or shift audio inside the editor

Normalise your audio before upload to avoid volume jumps between scenes that use uploaded audio and scenes that use the AI voice.
