A Voice Clone is a custom voice that replicates your own. You can create one in two ways — through the dedicated Voice Clone flow, or automatically when you generate a Personal Avatar. Once created, your Voice Clone can be used independently of any avatar.
To select your voice clone
Navigate to the scene you wish to add your clone to.
Open the speaker pill in the script box.
Access the Voice Selection Menu.
Select your Custom Voice from the list to use in your project.
Alternatively you can use the search option at the top of the menu to find your voice.
✍️ Your voice and your avatar are separate choices. Select your avatar for the scene, then select your voice clone for the same speaker.

To rename a voice clone
Navigate to the left hand menu of Synthesia and under the Assets section, select Voices.
Locate the Voice Clone you would like to rename and select the three dots in the top right corner.
Select Rename.
Enter your desired name and select Rename to save.

In some cases, the ElevenLabs instant voice cloning that powers our in-app voice cloning and Personal Avatars cannot always preserve the accent of non-native English speakers, as ElevenLabs only has English accent data for US, UK, Australian, and Canadian English.
To ensure your clone maintains your accent, we recommend to produce a Professional Voice Clone with ElevenLabs (contact ElevenLabs directly for pricing).You can find out more information on the voice cloning process here.
Once purchased and trained, you are able to import the clone into Synthesia.
Importing voice clones from ElevenLabs is only available to our Enterprise Plan users.
