What Do We Mean by Generate with AI?

We understand that creating a video from scratch can be a challenging task. That's why we have launched Generate video with AI!

In simple terms, you can now use AI to write a draft script based on your topic and target audience, and we'll present you with a full script split into relevant scenes. In the sections below, we will explain how you can achieve this and showcase a real example.

How to Create your Content with AI

To get started, go to your Synthesia main page and select create a New video in the top right-hand corner of your screen.

You will then be presented with the options: Blank Video, Generate video with AI, Import powerpoint

Select Generate video with AI as shown below.

And this is where the fun begins!

You are able to select one of our Synthesia templates to use with the Generate video with AI feature, from the Template drop down menu.

Once the script has been generated, scenes from the template will be generated along with the script.

It is important to note that currently the Generate video with AI doesn't support custom templates.

After selecting a template, describe your Topic and Audience in the fields showcased below.

In this example, we have set our topic to be "Introducing the most commonly known cybersecurity threats," and our audience to be "All employees within the business, regardless of tenure."

πŸ’‘ TOP TIP πŸ’‘

Remember to include relevant details in the Topic section, but avoid overwriting information.

The topic and audience are mandatory fields, but you can also add additional fields such as:

  • Language

  • Context

  • Objective

  • Persona

  • Tone

To do so select the + Add more option. Here we have chosen to add further information about our objective and tone.

If you have chosen to add more fields and would like to remove them, use the "-" field as shown above.

Once you're satisfied with your input, click on the Generate video button. Then, sit back, relax, and watch your topic come to life.

The feature will generate a script and also with our next exciting update, generate scenes for your script using the chosen template!

If you feel the script needs improvement, you can tweak your topic, audience and other details and select Generate again.

If you have generated multiple scripts, you will find that all of them are available for you to view in the order they were generated. Use the left and right arrow keys to navigate across the scripts and select the one that best meets your needs as shown below.

Once you are satisfied with the draft, select Continue in editor.

Please note that at this stage, any other generated scripts will disappear and you will only have access to the script you chose to generate.

After selecting Continue in editor, your project draft will open with the pre-written script, with the generated scenes, and with a pre-selected avatar and voice.

With the exciting new feature update, the AI will input text onto your scenes related to the script. If required, you are able to make edits to these.

It is important to note that currently not all Synthesia templates support text being inputted from the AI Generation.

From here, you can edit and preview your content, as well as add further information to your script and finishing touches to your video.

These include:

Check out our guides above for more information.

Once you are satisfied with all of your video elements, select Generate in the top right corner to create your video.
