Why Content Approval May Change

Updated this week

At Synthesia, maintaining the integrity, safety, and fairness of our platform is a top priority. Every video submitted to Synthesia undergoes moderation to ensure alignment with our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and Content Moderation Policies.

How the Review Process Works

Our moderation workflow is designed to ensure a fair and objective evaluation of each submission, using a combination of automated tools and manual review methods. Each video is is reviewed against the most recent version of our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and Content Moderation Policies. Submissions are evaluated in context, taking into account relevant factors to ensure alignment with our platform standards.

Why a Previously Approved Video May Now Be Rejected

Prior approval of similar or identical content does not guarantee future approval. Each video is assessed on a case by case basis based on its own content, context, and adherence to our current policies. While similar videos may have previously been approved, it's important to note that our internal review standards and interpretations continue to evolve. As we refine how we assess content especially around sensitive themes or portrayals some material may no longer align with the intended use of our stock avatars. This approach helps us maintain platform neutrality, uphold responsible use, and ensure all content reflects current moderation expectations.

Staying Informed

Synthesia’s Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and Content Moderation Policies are periodically updated to respond to emerging trends, customer feedback, and regulatory changes. We encourage all customers to regularly review the latest guidelines before submitting new content.
