Step 1: Content Migration Options
There are two main approaches to migrate content from a departing member's account to the workspace:
With Email Access (Preferred Method):
Have the departing member transfer their content to the workspace before leaving- This should be part of your standard off-boarding process to ensure smooth content transition. To learn more about transferring content see the the, How do I move a video to a Workspace? article.
Without Email Access:
For scenarios where the owner's email inbox is no longer accessible, you will need to provide authorization:
Get written consent from the contract signee, C-level executive, or head of procurement.
Send the authorization to support@synthesia.io.
Step 2: Content Migration Process
Once proper authorization is received:
Email support@synthesia.io with:
The departing member's email address
Written authorization
Which content needs to be migrated
The target workspace for content transfer
The Support team will:
Verify the authorization
Impersonate the account to migrate content
Move specified content to the designated workspace
Confirm once the migration is complete
Step 3: Account Cleanup
After content migration, remove the user from the workspace through the admin panel. To learn more see the Workspace Member Management Documentation page.
Notes:
Content migration only applies to videos and assets in My Videos - it does not include access to personal avatars- The process requires explicit authorization to protect user privacy and content security.
Be aware that it may take up to 90 days for all data to be permanently deleted from the system after account termination. See the What happens to a workspace member's content when their account is deleted? article to learn more.
