Add a shape to your scene
Open your video project in Synthesia.
Select the Shape icon in the top menu bar.
Select the shape you want to use (e.g., rectangle, circle).
Drag the shape to position and resize it within your scene.
Changing the color of a shape
Single Color option:
Select the shape on your canvas to select it.
In the right-hand menu, select Fill.
Choose a new color for the shape.
Gradient Color option:
Select the shape on your canvas to select it.
In the Design menu, select Fill.
Select the Gradient option - this will be two-tone effect as standard
To make this a multi-stop gradient:
Select along the color bar to add additional stops (you are able to have a maximum of five stops)
Choose the colors for each stop
If required, you can also set a transparency level for each gradient stop.
Use the options in the Gradient section to edit the gradient further:
Linear Gradient: The gradient will be present in a linear manner.
Radial: The gradient will be present in a circular manner.
Swap Colors: Switch the order of colors for the gradient
Rotate to next angle (only available on Linear Gradient) Rotates the angle of the gradient.

How do I add a shape with no fill, just a border?
Select the Shape icon and choose the border-only option when picking your shape. This gives you an outline with a transparent center, which is useful for highlighting part of the screen without covering it.

Yes, use the Change all button in the Fill section to apply the new color to all shapes with the same original color.
