πŸ“Œ Avatar outfit customization by plan

  • Basic: Can create outfits for customizable stock avatars only

  • Starter, Creator, and Enterprise: Can create outfits for customizable stock avatars and personal avatars created from a photo

If you would like to upgrade your plan, use our How do I upgrade my Synthesia plan guide.

Outfit customization lets you dress avatars in industry-specific clothing or branded looks that better match your message and audience.

What avatars does this work for?

Outfit customization is available for two avatar types:

  • Customizable stock avatars β€” available on all plans

  • Personal avatars created from a photo β€” available on Starter, Creator, and Enterprise plans

✍️ Not all stock avatars support outfit customization. If the Create outfit button does not appear in the avatar picker after selecting an avatar, that avatar is not compatible. Outfit customization is only available for Express-2 avatars.

πŸ“šIf you are working with a personal avatar, see How do I create personal avatars from a photo? to learn more about setup and requirements.

Customize an Avatar’s outfit

  1. In the video editor, select Avatars.

  2. In the avatar picker, select Create outfit.

  3. Enter a text prompt describing the outfit.

    • Example: "blue overalls with safety vest"

  4. Add branding (optional):

    • Use the logo picker to select a logo from your Brand Kit or Library, or upload a new one.

    • To specify logo placement, add it to your prompt (for example, "with logo on chest").

    • Specify brand colors using hex codes (for example, #0057B7) and describe which garments they should apply to.

  5. Select your preferred Avatar from the dropdown.

  6. Select the arrow to start generating the outfit. Generation can take a few minutes.

  7. When the outfit is ready, select Apply to add it to your video, or select Add to favorites to save it for future use.

πŸ’‘ Very detailed logos or logos with small text may render imperfectly. For the best results, use a simplified version of your logo (for example, just the icon without text) and keep placement instructions general (for example, "on chest" rather than "on the left lapel"). Logo placement is approximate and may not appear exactly where specified.

πŸ’¬FAQs

Why can't I see the "Create outfit" option for my avatar?

Outfit customization is only available for customizable stock avatars and personal avatars created from a photo. If the Create outfit option does not appear in the avatar picker, the avatar you have selected does not support outfit customization. Customization is also only available for Express-2 avatars β€” if your avatar is an older version, the option will not appear.

Can I share a custom outfit with my team?
