You can create avatar B-roll clips in Synthesia using text prompts. This lets you generate short clips of avatars performing actions to enhance your videos and storytelling.

📚 You can also customize outfits and backgrounds to create consistent visuals:

What avatars does this work for?

Background customization is available for:

  • A specific set of six expressive synthetic stock avatars

  • Personal avatars created from a photo

If you’re using a personal avatar, see How do I create personal avatars from photo? to learn more about setup and requirements.

Create Avatar B-roll

  1. In your video project, select Media at the top of the page.

  2. Under the Create with AI tab, select Video.

  3. If you don’t see the avatar and Space currently used in your video shown as icons in the prompt box, make sure you’ve selected one of the Veo 3 models.

    • Once selected, you can choose the avatar and Space you want to use.

  4. Enter a text prompt describing the action you want the avatar to perform, or press Tab to auto-generate a prompt.

    • Example: “avatar walking and waving”

  5. Click the blue arrow to generate your clip. This will consume credits and render your Avatar B-roll.

💡 Avatar B-roll helps maintain visual consistency between narration and action while making your videos more engaging.
