You can create avatar B-roll clips in Synthesia using text prompts. This lets you generate short clips of avatars performing actions to enhance your videos and storytelling.

Create Avatar B-roll using presets
AI Video Presets let you generate reliable, on-brand B-roll clips without writing prompts. Select a preset, choose your avatar and space, add branding, and generate â no experimentation required.
You can create two types of clips:
Avatar + space â the avatar performs an action (for example, walking or talking to a colleague)
Space only â a camera overview of the space with no avatar
To create a B-roll clip using a preset:
In your video project, select Media at the top of the page.
Under the Create with AI tab, select Video.
Select a preset from the preset library.
Select the avatar and space you want to use.
Choose your generation model.
Add your branding (Enterprise plan only and this option is not available for space-only clips).
Select Generate to create your clip.
âď¸ Presets are pre-tested for reliability, so you can expect a consistent, cinematic result without trial and error.
Create Avatar B-roll using a text prompt
In your video project, select Media at the top of the page.
Under the Create with AI tab, select Video.
If you don't see the avatar and space currently used in your video shown as icons in the prompt box, make sure you've selected one of the Veo 3 models.
Once selected, choose the avatar and space you want to use.
Enter a text prompt describing the action you want the avatar to perform, or press Tab to auto-generate a prompt.
Example: "avatar walking and waving"
Select the blue arrow to generate your clip. This will consume credits and render your Avatar B-roll.
âď¸ Donât see the Create with AI tab after selecting Media? Your Synthesia workspace admin may have disabled this feature. Reach out to your Synthesia admin to confirm whether Create with AI is enabled for your workspace.
