This feature is only available for Synthesia Creator and Enterprise Plan Customers. If you would like discuss upgrading your plan, contact the Synthesia Support team or see the How do I upgrade my Synthesia plan ? guide.

Add a password to your published videos to control who can view them. This feature is available on video pages, embeds, and SCORM exports, making it easier to share sensitive content securely.

How to enable password protection:

  1. Open the publish panel for your video.

  2. Toggle on the Protect with Password option.

  3. A default password will be generated automatically (hidden by default).

  4. Click the eye icon to view the password.

  5. To create your own password:

    • Click into the password field and type a new one.

    • Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include:

      • 1 letter

      • 1 digit

      • 1 special character

  6. Use the Copy button to copy the password directly.

  7. When you click Copy video link, the password is also copied by default.

What viewers see:

  • Video page: Viewers must enter the correct password to watch the video.

  • Embeds: The same password gate appears when the video is embedded on a site.

This ensures your content is protected no matter where it's shared.

Notes:

  • The same password applies to all translated versions of the video.

  • Passwords don’t expire automatically. Edit the password manually or toggle the feature off and back on to reset it.

  • Password protection cannot be enabled on videos that already require SSO authentication.
