📌 Sharing custom avatars and voices is only available on Enterprise plans. To upgrade your plan, please book a demo with our sales team.

Sharing custom avatars and voices lets your team use the same assets across projects, keeping your videos consistent and saving time. You can share with individual users or with your entire workspace, and remove access at any time.

✍️ Voice and avatar permissions are separate. To use a shared avatar together with a shared voice, you need access to both. Sharing an avatar does not share its voice, and sharing a voice does not share its avatar. Share each one separately.

Share an Avatar or Voice

  1. Go to the Avatars or Voices page, depending on what you want to share.

  2. Find the avatar or voice you want to share, select the options menu next to it, and select Share.

  3. In the Share menu, choose who to share with:

    • To invite individual users, search for their email address in the user search bar and select Share.

    • To share with your entire workspace, select the sharing dropdown and choose Shared with Workspace.

💡 Want to transfer ownership of an avatar or voice? Contact the Support Team for assistance.

Remove access to an Avatar or Voice

  1. Go to the Avatars or Voices page.

  2. Find the avatar or voice you want to revoke access to, select the three-dot menu next to it, and select Share.

  3. The Share menu displays which users currently have access:

    • To remove access for a specific user, select the Shared dropdown next to their email and choose Remove.

    • To remove access for the entire workspace, select the sharing dropdown and choose Invite Only. This revokes access for all workspace members and lets you invite users individually.

If a team member cannot see a shared Voice

If you shared a voice and your teammate cannot find it:

  1. Confirm you shared the voice itself, not only the avatar.

  2. Confirm you and your teammate are in the same workspace. Avatars and voices can be shared within one workspace only.

  3. Ask your teammate to reopen the editor so the shared voice appears. [confirm: refresh behavior with product.]

  4. If the voice still does not appear, contact the Support team.

💬 FAQs

Does sharing an avatar also share its voice?

Sharing an avatar does not automatically share the associated voice—you’ll need to share each one separately.

Can I share an avatar or voice with another workspace?

Avatars and voices can only be shared within the same workspace.

Can I transfer an avatar or voice to a different workspace?

Avatars and voices can only be transferred between workspaces by the Synthesia support team. To request a transfer, contact the Synthesia support team with the avatar or voice ID, the destination workspace, and written authorization from the owner confirming the transfer.

Why don't I see a share option on my avatar?

The share option is not available for all avatar types. Avatars created from a photo do not support sharing of the avatar itself — this is expected behavior. You can, however, share individual outfits for a photo avatar. Recipients can use the avatar in that specific outfit in their videos, but cannot customize it or create new outfits from it.
