Interactivity lets you make your video more engaging by turning text and shapes into clickable buttons. These buttons can open a website or jump to another part of your video, so viewers can choose their own path.
What Is Interactivity?
Interactivity means viewers can click on certain parts of your video to:
Open a website.
Jump to a different scene in the video.
How to Make Elements Clickable
Select Your Element
Click on any text or shape in your video.
You can select one element or a group of elements
Make It Interactive
In the inspector panel on the right-hand side of the canvas, toggle on the interactivity option.
Choose what happens when someone clicks the element:
Open a URL: Enter the website address you want to open.
Jump to a Scene: Pick which scene to jump to (previous, next, or a specific scene).
(Optional) Require a Click to Continue
Turn on Wait for click if you want the video to stop playing until the viewer clicks on an interactive element.
How to Create a Branching Video
Branching lets you make interactive videos where viewers can choose what happens next. There are two easy ways to add branching:
Add a clickable button: Place a button in your video. When viewers click it, they’ll jump to another scene you choose.
Set up automatic jumps: In the Inspector panel, use the After this scene option to make the video automatically go to a specific scene when the current one ends.
You can set the video to jump to the next scene, the previous scene, any specific scene, or end the video.
Notes:
You must publish your video with Synthesia for interactivity to work.
Only text and shape elements can be made clickable.
For SCORM files, the video is only marked as complete when the end scene is reached.
Interactive elements are indicated with a shimmer / shine effect.
