You can use Synthesia’s video analytics to understand how viewers interact with your content. The analytics panel provides a variety of metrics and visualization tools to help you evaluate video performance and engagement.

To View Video Analytics:

  1. Navigate to a Published video's overview page.

  2. Select the Analytics option located on the top right of the video.

Metrics Available:

  • Total Views – The total number of times the video was watched.

  • Unique Views – The number of distinct users who watched the video.

  • Impressions – The number of times your video was displayed.

  • View Rate – The percentage of impressions that resulted in a view.

  • Average Watch Time – The average duration viewers watched the video.

  • Total Watch Time – The cumulative time spent watching the video.

  • Completion Rate – The percent of views where 95% or more of the video was watched.

  • Average Percent Watched – The average portion of the video watched across all views in the selected timeframe.

  • Engagement Curve – Shows the percentage of video watches in which a selected portion was viewed. Hovering over the curve provides deeper insight:

    • Flat curves indicate steady viewing.

    • Declines suggest drop-off over time.

    • Peaks point to frequently rewatched sections.

    • Dips reveal parts that were often skipped.

  • Button Impressions – Each time a new button appears on the video player, it counts as an impression.

  • Click Rate – The number of clicks divided by the number of button impressions.

Visualization Features:

  • Filters – Users can filter data by language and version.

  • Time Ranges – View data for the last 30 days or the lifetime of a video version.

  • Trend Plots – Visualize daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly trends for any selected metric.

Notes:

  • Video Analytics are only available for videos shared via Synthesia's video player. This includes videos shared via embeds, SCORM packages, and the video's share page link. Synthesia's Video Analytics are not available for video content that has been downloaded as an .mp4 and uploaded into another platform.

  • The engagement curve presents interactive videos as linear, to simplify the data.

  • The player used with the engagement curve does not render interactive buttons.
