Troubleshooting

💬 Why can’t I download my video?

If the option to download is unavailable or you see a message about restricted access, it likely means your plan does not include downloads.

If you’re on the Free Plan

The Free Plan does not include video downloads.

To enable downloads:

  1. Click Unlock downloads.

  2. Choose either the Starter or Creator Plan and click Upgrade.

  3. To explore the Enterprise Plan, click Book demo to speak with our team.

If you’re on an Enterprise Plan

If you’re already on an Enterprise Plan but still can’t download:

  • Check if your video contains interactive elements (see below).

  • If not, contact the Synthesia Support team for assistance.

💬 Why can’t I download an interactive video?

Videos that include interactive elements—such as buttons or branching logic—cannot be downloaded.

This limitation exists because interactive functionality depends on real-time logic and user input, which standard video file formats like .mp4 do not support.
Interactive videos are designed for playback within Synthesia only.

💡 While interactive videos can’t be downloaded as MP4s, you still have several sharing options:

  • Embed your video directly on your website or LMS

  • Export as SCORM to use in compatible learning platforms

  • Share via link to let others watch and comment

To create a downloadable version, duplicate your video and remove all interactive elements before generating the MP4.
