Learn how to zoom in and pan around the video canvas while editing in Synthesia.

Written by Meg Farley

Looking to add a zoom effect that viewers see in the finished video, rather than navigate your own editing view? See How do I use visual animation effects in Synthesia? instead — this article covers zooming in on the canvas while you edit, which is a different feature.

Using the Zoom Function

  1. Press and hold the CTRL (Windows) or ⌘ Command (Mac) key.

  2. Zoom in using the mouse or touch pad on your computer.

  3. Once you've zoomed into your video, a hand 🖐️ icon appears on the bottom right of the canvas.

  4. Select the hand option to Pan across the video to a different portion of the canvas.

  5. De-select the hand icon to make edits to the canvas.

  6. Use the Fit option to return you to the full-screen view.
