Music can make a real difference to your content β€” helping set the mood and keeping viewers engaged. You can add music from your workspace library, the Soundstripe stock library, or by uploading your own track.

Add Music to Your Video

  1. Open the video you want to add music to.

  2. Select the scene you want to add music to, then toggle on Music in the toolbar on the right-hand side of the canvas.

  3. In the Add music panel, select your music source from the left-hand side:

    • Library β€” music you've uploaded to your workspace library

    • In this video β€” tracks you've already added to this video

    • Soundstripe (under Integrations) β€” stock music library

  4. Use the Genre, Mood, Duration, and Instrumental filters at the top of the panel to narrow down your options, or use the search bar to find a specific track.

  5. Select the Play button to the left of any track to preview it.

  6. Once you've chosen a track, select Add to apply it to the currently selected scene.

  7. To adjust the volume, use the volume option in the Music section.

πŸ’‘ We recommend setting background music volume to 15% or less to avoid overpowering your avatar's voice.

✍️ After making any change to scene music β€” whether to the track or the volume β€” a Change all option will appear on screen. Select this to apply the same music or volume setting to all scenes in your video.

Upload Your Own Music

If you want to use your own audio, you can upload it directly from the Add music panel.

  1. Select Upload music at the bottom of the left-hand panel.

  2. Select your file. Synthesia supports the following upload formats: .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .aac, and .flac.
