There are four ways to get a Roleplay Session in front of learners. This article explains what each one gives you and how to choose.
The four ways to share
Learner Portal. Assign the roleplay to named learners, track completion, and see full analytics. This needs a Self-Serve or Custom plan.
Share page link. Send a direct link to the roleplay. If sign-in is required, the learner signs in and the attempt appears in the Learner Portal for managers and admins. If the link is open, the learner starts without signing in, so the attempt is not tied to a learner and does not appear in the Learn app.
HTML embed. Embed the roleplay on a webpage.
SCORM package. Export the roleplay and upload it to your LMS, which records completion, pass or fail, and score. When the learner signs in, the attempt is also recorded in Learn app analytics for managers and admins.
The Learner Portal and your LMS do not sync
✍️ Roleplay attempts taken through your LMS (via SCORM) or an authenticated share page now appear in the Learner Portal analytics for managers and admins. The learner signs in with email and password or SSO, and the attempt is recorded alongside Learner Portal activity. For this to work, the learner needs a learner profile and an assigned seat set up in advance, otherwise sign-in is blocked.
Attempts taken this way do not appear in the learner's own My progress, because that view relies on a direct assignment. Managers and admins still see the attempts in analytics. An LMS fed by SCORM also keeps its own completion and score record, so the learner's result appears in your LMS as well.
Export a Roleplay Session as a SCORM package
Open the Roleplay Session in Studio.
Select Publish.
Select Export as SCORM.
Choose the SCORM version your LMS supports, either SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004. Check with your LMS administrator if you are not sure.
Set the completion criteria that mark a learner as complete.
Choose whether to record learner identity, which passes the learner's name and email to your LMS.
Select Download and upload the package to your LMS.
Choosing between the Learner Portal and SCORM
Use the Learner Portal when the goal is coaching and skill development. Learners see their skill breakdown, coaching summary, and transcript, and managers get dashboards across their team.
Use SCORM when an LMS completion record is the compliance requirement, or when your learners already work inside your LMS.
Three practical consequences of choosing SCORM:
Enablement admins and managers now see SCORM and authenticated share-page results in the Learner Portal analytics, as long as the learner signs in and has an assigned seat
Learners lose access to the skill breakdown, coaching summary, and transcript
You cannot filter or group SCORM results by team
