Synthesia sends learners reminders about their Roleplay Sessions, so managers do not have to chase people to complete them. By default, every learner receives email reminders, with no setup required. You can also connect Slack or Microsoft Teams so the same reminders reach learners in the apps they use every day.
Default Email Notifications
Email notifications are always on and need no setup. Every learner receives:
Assignment notifications — when a Session is assigned, including the title, due date, and a link.
Completion confirmations — when a learner finishes a Session.
Slack and Microsoft Teams Notifications
You can connect Slack or Microsoft Teams in addition to email, so the same reminders reach learners where they already work. You can connect Slack, Teams, or both. Learners are matched to each platform by email address — if a learner's Synthesia email matches their Slack or Teams email, they receive direct messages there.
Once connected, learners receive a direct message when a Session is assigned and when they complete a Session. Each message includes the Session title and a link to open the Session.

If a learner's Synthesia email does not match their Slack or Teams email, they will not receive notifications on that platform, but they will still receive email. Update the learner's email so it matches across systems.
